Eco Group: .eco champion
When we buy a product, its packaging can be a big part of its overall environmental footprint. Sustainable products should be packaged sustainably.

We spoke with Aaron Barber, Managing Director at Eco Group, about how they are supplying more sustainable packaging to eco-conscious UK businesses.
What is EcoGroup and what kinds of products do you make?
Eco Group is a UK-based sustainable manufacturer that brings together labels, packaging, signage and print consumables under one roof. Through our core divisions including Eco Labels, Eco Pouches, Eco Signs and Eco Toners, we help organisations simplify procurement while reducing the environmental impact of everyday products.
We specialise in bespoke label solutions for sectors such as food, logistics, healthcare and retail, alongside sustainable packaging formats, eco-conscious signage and environmentally responsible print consumables. All products are designed to meet real-world performance requirements while offering more responsible material choices, including recycled, recyclable and FSC-certified options.
Our approach is built around giving customers a single, reliable supply partner that can deliver consistent quality, strong service levels and measurable sustainability improvements. By combining multiple product categories into one group, we help businesses reduce supplier fragmentation, improve efficiency and make more sustainable decisions across their entire supply chain.
What is the environmental impact of product packaging? How do you work to minimize it?
Packaging has a significant environmental impact across its full lifecycle, from raw material extraction and manufacturing through to transport, usage and disposal. Poor material choices and inefficient logistics can increase carbon emissions, generate unnecessary waste and contribute to landfill or pollution challenges.
At Eco Group, we focus on reducing this impact at every stage. We prioritise responsibly-sourced materials such as recycled content, FSC-certified papers and recyclable or compostable options wherever possible. We also work closely with customers to optimise specifications, ensuring they are fit for purpose without over engineering or excess material use.
Our production processes are designed to minimise waste and improve efficiency, while our logistics are structured to reduce emissions through smarter packing and carbon-conscious delivery methods. Any unavoidable emissions are measured and offset as part of our carbon neutral certification.
Ultimately, our role is to help customers make better informed decisions, balancing cost, performance and environmental responsibility without compromise.
What types of customers do you serve? Why do they choose your company?
We work with a broad range of organisations, from SMEs and fast-growing consumer brands through to large multi-site businesses and public sector organisations. Our customers operate across industries including food and drink, manufacturing, logistics, healthcare and facilities management.
Customers typically come to us for two key reasons. First, they want to reduce costs without sacrificing quality. Second, they are under increasing pressure to improve their environmental impact and need a partner who can deliver both.
We differentiate by combining commercial and environmental value. This includes offering a full audit of existing products, identifying opportunities to reduce costs, improve performance or switch to more sustainable materials. We also provide fast turnaround times, stock holding options and a reliable UK-based supply chain.
Importantly, we focus on transparency. Customers trust us because we provide clear, practical recommendations rather than generic sustainability claims. That balance of cost saving, service and credible environmental improvement is why many customers choose to work with us long term.
What has becoming carbon neutral certified meant for your business?
Becoming carbon neutral certified has been a significant milestone for our business, both operationally and commercially. It has formalised our commitment to measuring, reducing and offsetting emissions across our entire operation, rather than treating sustainability as a marketing exercise.
Internally, it has driven improvements in how we source materials, manage production and optimise logistics. It has created a framework for continuous improvement, ensuring sustainability is embedded into everyday decision making rather than handled as a one off initiative.
Externally, it has strengthened trust with customers. Many organisations are now required to report on their environmental impact, and working with a certified carbon neutral supplier helps them meet those goals. It also provides clear, credible evidence that our claims are backed by recognised standards.
Overall, it has positioned us as a serious, accountable partner in the sustainability space and has opened doors to new opportunities, particularly within larger organisations and public sector frameworks.
You started with a .uk domain for your business. Why did you switch to .eco?
Switching to a .eco domain was a deliberate decision to better align our brand with our purpose. As a business built around sustainability, we wanted our digital presence to clearly reflect our environmental focus from the first interaction.
The .eco domain signals that commitment instantly. It places us within a global community of organisations working towards positive environmental change, rather than being seen as a standard commercial supplier.
It also supports transparency and credibility. Customers are increasingly conscious of greenwashing, so having a domain that is directly linked to environmental values helps reinforce that sustainability is at the core of what we do, not an afterthought.
From a commercial perspective, it has also helped differentiate us in a competitive market. The domain is memorable, relevant and clearly communicates our positioning. Combined with our operational practices, it strengthens our overall brand message and helps attract customers who prioritise sustainability in their supply chain decisions.
At .eco, we are privileged to be surrounded by a community of businesses, organizations and individuals working hard to protect our planet. We are honoured to spread the word about the great work they're doing. If you are a member of the .eco community and would like to be featured, get in touch.
