Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN): .eco champion
Transforming agricultural practices at scale to be regenerative and sustainable is a tough challenge. SAN exists to help growers with this change.

Jasson Muir, Senior Manager for Communications and Marketing at SAN, shares how they are supporting growers in adopting regenerative and resilient agriculture practices.
What is the Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN)?
SAN is a member-owned global impact network, with the vision of an agriculture that heals and nourishes the planet. Through the practice of radical collaboration, we catalyze local, regional and global action and generate joint positionings on key issues for sustainability and agriculture.
Who are the members of the SAN Network?
As of 2026, SAN’s membership is comprised of 38 organizations working in sustainable agriculture worldwide. Most of them are local organizations, while about 15% are international NGOs. Our members excel in various areas, including technical assistance (88%), project management (85%) and research (70%).
What is SAN’s Theory of Change?
We envision a world where agriculture is regenerative, resilient, and equitable, addressing the interlinked challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, and social inequity. By advancing solutions for climate change mitigation and adaptation, enhancing agrobiodiversity and ecosystem services, and empowering farming communities, we are transforming agriculture towards a sustainable and equitable future for communities.
What are the biggest challenges facing growers globally?
During the past century, many innovations advanced agriculture in terms of practicality and yield, but now we know that many were greatly harmful to the environment. Regulation and scientific knowledge have grown hand-in-hand and many governments and buyers are pushing for more sustainable produce. For smallholders, the problem is equity, in how hard it is to opt into better practices when you have to bear the full cost. By working in tandem with local organizations, SAN is able to help foster an equitable transition, towards long-term transformations.
SAN was an early adopter using a .eco domain. What has .eco meant to your organization?
